I met Alan for the first time in the summer of 2013 at his camp called “Can Do”, which was held in Samokov, Bulgaria.

Alan is full of theoretical knowledge as well as invaluable practical experience in refereeing and he is able to share them in an accessible and engaging way.

He’s an encyclopedia full of so many stories, events, and experience.

In the years since then and up until now, whenever I’ve needed help, support or advice, I’ve always known that I can call him and that he’ll always try to help.
Martin Horozov - FIBA referee

I first met Alan in 2001 at a level 3 referees camp hosted at Loughborough University.

Alan was a tutor and a no-nonsense tutor at that. Alan gave honest feedback and you knew if Alan liked you that you were a promising referee.

I went on to attend a number of Alan’s Nationwide Referee camps over the next 4-5 years. Soaking up Alan’s expert knowledge and tuition on Basketball Officiating.

Alan was is by far one of the best tutors in the World at this time. We were so lucky, as young officials to have Alan at our disposal.
